Hello, and welcome to my studio! If you are just getting to know me, please take a look at my vocal reel at right, which demonstrates the results my students have had over the years I'm a master teacher, with over a decade of experience teaching privately in prestigious NYC Schools, including The Calhoun School, Leman Prep Conservatory, and The Dalton School (where I'm currently on faculty), but I also teach privately out of studio on 72nd street on Manhattan's Upper West Side. In addition, I'm on the faculty of the Kew-Forest School in Queens as the Upper School and Middle School music teacher, and I music-direct at Usdan Summer Camp for the Arts.
I earned my BM in Vocal Performance at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, studying classically under renowned teachers including: Metropolitan Tenor Anthony Dean Griffey, and Mezzo-Soprano Nicole Sonbert. who is now Director of Vocal Studies at Eastern Washington University. Upon graduation, I moved to NYC and began studying pop, jazz, and other CCM techniques with vocal pedagogue Jeanette LoVetri, earning my Level III Certification in Somatic Voicework: The LoVetri Method through Baldwin-Wallace University in Summer 2022.
"Broadway Quality. Community Vibes."
In 2011 at the Shubert Theater, I made my Broadway Debut in the chorus for the Irish Repertory Theater's Benefit Concert of "Camelot," featuring Jeremy Irons and Melissa Erico, directed by Charlotte Moore. But even though with a modest Broadway resume, I keep myself extremely down to earth and grounded in my teaching practice. I believe that quality singing comes from understanding your voice, and allowing your voice to open in its truest form. This takes time and consistent attention and energy. As my first teacher and mentor, Long Island Voice Guru Ron Meixsell likes to say, it's all about "control by letting go." I provide a safe and nurturing environment in lessons, which allows students to flourish and grow into their tremendous vocal potential.

In addition to teaching singing lessons, I also teach piano lessons, guitar, and songwriting lessons. As a music director, I've worked often with community and pre-professional programs, including The Bergen County Performing Arts Center, Open Hydrant Theater Company, the Dalton School, and the City Center Encores Teaching Artistry Program, to name a few. I also teach a group piano class as the Upper School Music Teacher at the Kew-Forest School in Queens.
My piano and band arrangements have been seen onstage at the Tada Theater in "Doris Day: My Secret Love," and in numerous concerts at 54 Below and the Green Room 42 for artists such as Johanan Merino, Aviva Zafrin, and Luke Islam (13: The Musical, America's Got Talent." My vocal arrangements were featured in the original doo-wop Shakespeare comedy, "Fools in Love," which has run on and off at the Open Hydrant Theater Company for over 10 years.
